The National Institute for Education and Youth (NIVAM) is a public institution in Slovakia that plays a central role in supporting youth work and non-formal education. Its mission is to empower young people through competence development, inclusion, civic participation, and access to quality information and support.
NIVAM provides training, consultation, and methodological support for youth workers, develops programmes and tools to address the needs of young people, and promotes quality standards in youth work through accreditation and research.
NIVAM is the National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth and Sport, the European Solidarity Corps, and coordinates the Eurodesk network in Slovakia. It also serves as the National Correspondent for the EU Youth Wiki.
Since 2025, NIVAM has been part of the “One-Stop Shops for Youth” project, aiming to reduce the number of young people at risk of becoming NEET in Slovakia.
