Poraka Nova Launches SINFT Project: Technology for Social Good

Poraka Nova has announced the launch of SINFT – Social Innovation NFT, a three-year international project supported under the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges framework. This forward-looking initiative aims to equip young people and youth workers with advanced digital skills—particularly in NFTs (non-fungible tokens), blockchain technology, and artificial intelligence—to drive positive social change rather than profit.

In today’s digital age, where technology shapes how people connect, express themselves, and advocate, SINFT seeks to bridge the gap between the social sector and the tech world. The project’s goal is to empower young people to become digital social innovators, utilising technology to lead and inspire transformation in their communities.

What SINFT Will Deliver

The project will develop a virtual learning platform where young people, civil society organisations, and youth workers can learn to:

  • Understand and apply emerging technologies, such as NFTs, blockchain, and AI, for social innovation.

  • Design NFTs representing causes, campaigns, and values related to community issues such as inclusion, environment, mental health, and gender equality.

  • Develop digital storytelling and fundraising strategies to support nonprofit missions via ethical NFT marketplaces.

  • Promote inclusive technology use by engaging marginalised youth—including young people with disabilities, Roma youth, and rural youth—in creative and collaborative online processes.

  • Integrate NFT e-commerce into nonprofit websites to support the financial sustainability of youth-led initiatives and civil society campaigns.

These efforts will culminate in creating a network of young changemakers prepared to collaborate, co-create, and amplify social causes across digital borders.

Who Is Involved?

SINFT targets:

  • Young people aged 16–30, particularly from marginalised or underserved communities.

  • Youth workers, educators, and mentors aiming to boost their digital facilitation skills.

  • Staff and volunteers in civil society organisations seeking to increase digital capacity and reach.

  • Digital creatives, artists, and technologists interested in meaningful social initiatives.

Recruitment will involve online outreach, social media campaigns, and collaboration with ERYICA and its member organisations to engage motivated young people widely.

Why NFTs for Social Impact?

While often seen as speculative digital art, NFTs are unique digital assets that can represent ownership, identity, and storytelling. When used ethically and creatively, they offer powerful tools to:

  • Raise awareness of social issues.

  • Fund grassroots campaigns and nonprofit activities.

  • Showcase voices and art from marginalised communities.

  • Build solidarity networks and promote digital citizenship.

By demystifying and decentralising these technologies, SINFT aims to make digital activism accessible to more young people, especially those from less connected or disadvantaged backgrounds.

Call to Action

Poraka Nova will soon open calls for young people and youth organisations to join online exchanges and training modules. Organisations interested in collaboration, hosting virtual events, or promoting the call among youth networks are encouraged to get in touch.

Poraka Nova believes technology should serve people, not the other way around. Through SINFT, they are fostering a future where youth are not just digital users but creators and changemakers, using technology to build a more inclusive Europe.

Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to innovate together!
