Open call: Europe Goes Local is searching for good practices

Share your project before the 15 March and participate in the EGL event in Tromsø

This year, the Europe Goes Local network conference will take place in the Norwegian city of Tromsø (European Youth Capital 2026) from 2 to 5 June. As is usually the case at its conferences, one of EGL’s main objectives is to serve as a platform for sharing good practices in youth work that can inspire professionals in the sector and open up discussions on current issues.

For this reason, in view of the upcoming edition of the event, the platform’s coordinators have decided to launch an open call for projects related to one of the following themes:

Rural communities: meaningful youth participation in rural settings.

• Engagement of young people at the intersection of minority or marginalised backgrounds and less-privileged geographical contexts.

• Impactful initiatives within Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps in remote or less-privileged communities.

• Initiatives demonstrating how to overcome barriers to meaningful youth engagement in less-privileged communities.

• Participation initiatives within and beyond representative democracy, including young people’s involvement in local politics and civic and democratic participation in everyday life, as well as how young people address global issues at the local level.

• The role of civic space in fostering local engagement among young people.

• Participation enhanced by digital tools, particularly those supporting young people facing various barriers to active involvement in community processes.

• Projects and initiatives connecting young people living in overseas territories of European countries with those from the mainland.

• Youth work in socially disadvantaged communities and in minority communities experiencing racism.

• Information provision for young people in remote or less privileged areas.

• Detached and mobile youth work practices, including street work.

• The role of informal youth groups in local communities and how European programmes and youth work can support them.

Submit your best practices by 15 March by filling in the form available on their website, and get to participate in the event.
