Eurodesk Italy visits Madrid

Last December, 21 Italian Eurodesk multipliers, youth workers and local authority representatives took part in a study visit to Madrid. Organised in coordination with the Italian Youth Agency, the visit was part of a training course on European youth policies.

Participants explored Madrid’s local and regional youth policies through visits to youth centres, information hubs, and integrated services that offer guidance, mobility support, legal and psychological advice, and participatory programmes.

Highlights included meeting the “Corresponsales” network of young volunteers, dedicated to promoting peer-to-peer information, strategies supporting Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, as well as the Carné Joven (Youth Card) regional discount programme.

Visits to Europa Joven Madrid and CRIDJ Madrid provided insights into Eurodesk operations, while reflections emphasised the importance of adapting accessible youth information models through networks such as Eurodesk and ERYICA to strengthen youth empowerment further.

This travel follows the tradition of organised annual study visits to the European Youth Capitals, which Eurodesk Italy began in 2021. Its aim is to empower its multipliers by exposing them to high-level models of youth participation, in collaboration with the European Youth Forum.
