Call for Volunteers for a Pool of Young Activists on Peer-to-peer Advocacy and Campaigning

 

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you believe that every voice matters and every vote counts?

We are looking for 5 enthusiastic and motivated young people to become activists and ambassadors for the importance of voting!

As a member of the pool of young activists of EU inFORM - Young Voters project, you will have the opportunity to gain advocacy and campaigning skills, become a Youth Information Ambassador, network with like-minded young people, and make a difference in your community!

  • • Get involved in shaping European democracy and make a difference for the young people in your community.

    • Gain skills in peer-to-peer advocacy and campaigning.

    • Learn how to be a Youth Information Ambassador and multiplier of youth information, and information on European elections in particular.

    • Get to know like-minded active young people from all over Europe.

    • Receive a recommendation letter acknowledging the engagement in the project.

  • If you want to be a member of the pool of young activists on peer-to-peer advocacy and campaigning, you should fulfil the following criteria:

    • 2024 must be the first year you will have the right to vote in the European elections, and you must be at least 18 years old in August 2023.

    • Have an interest in the functioning of the European Union and becoming a young activist on peer-to-peer advocacy and campaigning.

    • Willing to work with a youth information service (sending organisation) to promote the importance of voting and civic participation, as well as different resources developed by the EU inFORM - Young Voters project (info Web Hub and several thematic online campaigns).

    • Have a good level of English.

    • Must be available for preparatory online meetings on 6 June and 7 September 2023, 18:00 - 20:00 CET (17:00 - 19:00 WEST / 19:00 - 21:00 EEST); training in Spain 18 - 23 September (travel days included); follow-up activities for overall period between May 2023 and May 2024.

  • As a member of the pool of young activists on peer-to-peer advocacy and campaigning, you will:

    • Be engaged in the project activities for a period of approximately 12 months (June 2023 - May 2024).

    • Participate in the online meetings on 6 June and 7 September 2023, 18:00 - 20:00 CET (17:00 - 19:00 WEST / 19:00 - 21:00 EEST) to get an overview of the project, get to know other activists and prepare for the upcoming training.

    • Take an active part in the training in September (18 - 23 September, participation in person): learn more about youth information, peer-to-peer approach and basics of advocacy and lobbying.

    • (by interest) Participate in the creation of the campaign visuals and interviews with MEPs.

    • In collaboration with the sending organisation, organise an info session for young people on a local/national level on the importance of voting in European elections.
