EU inFORM: First-Time Voters walk the talk for the EU Elections

The EU inFORM - Young Voters Project is dedicated to boosting participation among young voters in the upcoming 2024 EU elections, focusing on first-time voters.

One of the outcomes of the project is the creation of a pool of young activists who were trained during the University for Youth and Development, organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe from 17 to 24 September 2023, in Mollina (Spain). 22 young people from 10 countries participated in the INFObassadors training, which enabled them to become youth ambassadors for youth information.

Among the different workshops and presentations that were delivered, the participants highly valued the EU election simulation. In this activity, they had the chance to experience first-hand how the EU elections 2024 will happen in each of their territories and to understand the weight and importance of their votes.

Moreover, we took the opportunity to involve a dozen of them to become key players in their countries for the Walk the Talk campaign. Thanks to their collaboration, we developed over a hundred videos with tailored content about the EU for first-time voters which will be posted on the Walk the Talk and its partners’ social media channels in the upcoming month.

As part of the planned actions, our young activists had the chance to brainstorm and decide together some questions they would like to pose to the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). In October, the ERYICA Coms Team visited the European Parliament in Brussels to bring these concerns directly to MEPs from all political groups
