ERYICA brings Youth Information to the heart of the European Youth Week

Last April, Silvia Troiani, Membership and Project Officer, and Joan Simó, Communications Manager, represented the ERYICA Secretariat at the kick-off event of European Youth Week 2026 in Brussels.

Joined by two young representatives from the ERYICA network—Maddalena (Eurodesk Italy) and Josephine (ProMo Cymru)—they took part in the event at the European Parliament, where more than 1,000 young people gathered to discuss the future of Europe.

Alongside promoting ERYICA's 40th Anniversary Campaign and welcoming visitors to the ERYICA stand, the organisation's representatives co-hosted a breakout session with the European Youth Card Association (EYCA)

In this activity, participants explored the question, "What kind of future do young people want to live in?" and addressed issues such as affordable housing, access to education in rural areas, the rise of extremism and xenophobia, and the challenges young people face in achieving independence. Participants then transformed their ideas into messages for policymakers by writing postcards addressed to Members of the European Parliament.

With this year's European Youth Week centred on solidarity and justice, ERYICA highlighted that justice for young people begins with guaranteeing their right to access reliable, independent, and inclusive information. Throughout the day, the ERYICA stand welcomed many participants eager to learn more about youth information services and the network's work.
