It is without question that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalisation are having a profound impact on our lives. New digital technologies are revolutionising the interaction between governments, public services, and citizens. With young people being those most exposed to digital technologies, algorithms, and online ways of interaction, this begs the question as to how big data and new technologies are affecting them and how the youth information sector should evolve. What changes will have to be made to ensure further access to information, public services, and social rights? How can youth information services guarantee the right to privacy, data protection and a personalised approach while making use of new information technologies? How can we support young people in becoming responsible and literate digital citizens? Further, how can the youth information sector make use of AI to cater to the needs of young people, and which risks must be averted and tackled?

Taking place on the International Day of Universal Access to Information, this webinar, conducted in the framework of the Partnership between ERYICA and the Council of Europe, aims to explore the impact of AI and new digital technologies on youth information services. With a diverse panel featuring experts, young activists, and youth information workers, the webinar aims to provide a fruitful discussion about the challenges and opportunities of AI and new digital technologies, while exploring the future of youth information and counselling.
