Jugendnetz.de – 25 years of youth information online
In 2024, the Jugendnetz will celebrate its 25th anniversary, making it one of the earliest websites for youth information in Germany.
With the Youth Network, the Baden-Württemberg Youth Foundation provides young people with a state-wide, independent, and non-commercial youth information service. Its central aim is to support young people in various life situations and help them make informed decisions, become aware of their rights, and explore opportunities. In particular, media and information skills are strengthened. The youth network serves as a nationwide networking platform, cooperating closely with numerous regional partners who maintain joint databases and provide content.
The youth network offers a wide range of services and covers important areas of life:
Everyday skills: Information on topics such as finance, insurance, housing and labour law can be found on the "Young Pages" platform. Videos from projects such as "MediaMind", which provide AI-supported knowledge clips, are also published here.
Rights and democracy: The youth network provides knowledge on human rights and fundamental rights, including through interactive educational games.
Comprehensive databases: It offers detailed directories of organisations, projects and schools in Baden-Württemberg as well as funding opportunities.
Commitment and participation: Young people can find volunteering opportunities, mentoring programmes such as environmental mentors and diversity coaches, as well as information on campaigns like "Mitmachen Ehrensache".
Counselling services: The youth network refers to neutral and free support services, for example, on educational counselling, family violence or addiction. Reporting centres and prevention services against discrimination and extremism are also integrated.
The platform is continuously being developed technically and optimised for search engines to ensure a high level of accessibility. The ability to flexibly incorporate content and integrate it into your own website also increases its reach and visibility.
By providing permanently available knowledge clips and work materials, the youth network ensures the sustainability of knowledge acquisition and promotes the active participation and initiative of young people in the digital society. With over 5 million visitors in 2024, the Jugendnetz is the leading youth information portal in Germany. In addition to topic pages on everyday skills, human rights, and media literacy programmes, it contains databases with over 8,000 youth work institutions and more than 3,000 youth projects, as well as information on funding programmes, advice for going abroad, and much more.
