The Fédération de Centres d’Information et de Documentation pour Jeunes, also known as CIDJ, was founded in 1990.

As a youth organization, the CIDJ's goal was to provide information tailored to young people's needs and demands, delivered by and for young people.

It has progressively specialised in the production of educational tools and files, the aim of which is to help young people take ownership of information in a fun way.

Officially recognised as a federation of youth information centres in 2009, the structure has grown considerably (eight affiliated YIC), both in terms of activities and staff to carry them out.
