Bine ati venit National Youth Foundation of Romania!

Since January 2007, National Youth Foundation it’s a national umbrella structure that brings together 22 county youth foundations from all over Romania and is the only non-governmental federative youth structure recognised by a law regarding public policies for youth (Youth Law).

Through its pyramidal organisational structure, FNT ensures the representation at the central level of the interests of over 175 non-governmental youth organisations from the local level, represented within the county youth foundations, being among the most representative non-governmental youth structures in Romania in terms of territorial coverage and youth programs/activities.

FNT’s members own 10 youth houses, 12 youth clubs and 4 sports bases. In 3 of the youth houses, but also in 2 other newly created spaces, FNT supports the activity of 5 youth centres dedicated to youth Ukrainians and Romanians. Youth centres are spaces where young people from the local community (Ukrainians and Romanians) have access to services and activities as support of inclusion in local communities but also of actions to facilitate access to educational, professional or recreational programs and activities.

Within each youth centre, to eliminate language or cultural barriers and create a space where young Ukrainians feel safe, the teams are developed with Romanian and Ukrainian youth workers. Furthermore, each individual centre has specialised staff who offer specialised support for learning the Romanian language, but also the English language, essential for them to be able to continue their lives as normally as possible.

The National Youth Foundation, together with one of its members, has developed the proposal for National Strategy for Volunteering Law through consultations with young people in every county and also through facilitated dialogue between young people and local authorities. In the last year, FNT has started a project whose main objective is to revitalise the youth field in the country by offering specialised trainings (fundraising, organisational management, communication etc.) and mentoring periods, precisely so that the organisations involved can put into practice what they have achieved.

In addition to the field of public policies and the educational activities that it implements, FNT pays special attention to the area of culture, precisely because it represents a way through which young people can connect with the community, but also because cultural methods can be integrated into development and learning activities. Thus, theatre classes or jam sessions are held at the foundation's centre, followed by artistic performances.
