The "No Hate Speech Movement" youth campaign

The No Hate Speech Movement (NHSM) was a youth campaign led by the Council of Europe Youth Department seeking to mobilise young people to combat hate speech and promote human rights online. Launched in 2013, it was rolled out at the national and local levels through national campaigns in 45 countries.

The NHSM officially terminated as a CoE campaign, but will now take its legacy to a new organisation. The most enthusiastic activists of the movement are willing to establish a movement or network, to carry on the mission to combat (online) hate speech. A study session will be organised in Strasbourg in October to define the details of this new organism and ERYICA will attend. If you have any suggestions for the movement’s new life, you can contact the secretariat.
