Malta’s Youth Information Ambassadors take the lead with Listen Up! (Youth Edition)

Agenzija Żgħażagħ launched the Youth Information Ambassadors initiative, Listen Up! (Youth Edition) earlier this year, with the programme now gaining strong momentum. Developed in collaboration with Malta’s National Youth Council, the initiative offers young people aged 18–25 a meaningful opportunity to actively shape Malta’s youth information landscape.

A dynamic group of selected ambassadors now acts as a bridge between Agenzija Żgħażagħ and young people across Malta, ensuring that their voices, ideas, and concerns are directly reflected in youth information services. Their work focuses on two main areas: research, gathering insights into young people’s information needs and challenges, and content creation, producing accessible, youth-friendly information materials for distribution across youth communities.

The initiative aims to improve access to reliable information, strengthen digital and media literacy, encourage active participation, and raise awareness of youth rights, while also supporting young people’s well-being.

Rooted in the principles of the European Youth Information Charter and Agenzija Żgħażagħ’s status as a Youth Information Quality Label holder, Listen Up! prioritises accessibility, reliability, and participation. All content is developed in collaboration with trained youth information workers, ensuring it is accurate, clear, and relevant to young people’s realities.

Youth participation is at the heart of the programme. From the outset, ambassadors have helped shape its priorities and direction, identifying media literacy as a key focus area. They lead the research process, design tools, and co-create content that will be shared nationally, ensuring the initiative remains authentic and youth-driven.

You can discover updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and new youth-created content on Agenzija Żgħażagħ’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
