DesYIgn-ing the first outputs!
The Innovative Youth Information Service Design and Outreach (DesYIgn) project is well under way!
The Working Group on the creation of an eLearning courseand toolkit met for the first time on 12-13 September in Helsinki, Finland. Their mandate is to create an eLearning course and a toolkit on service design in youth information and counselling by summer 2020.
The aim of this project is to rethink how services are designed and to create tools and resources to allow youth information services to reach out to a maximum number of young people, especially those at risk of social exclusion. In order to do this, youth information providers need to be trained on new channels and tools, and on how to design their services in a user-centred and innovative mannerto appeal and reach out to more young people.
The first part of the project was to conduct focus groups with young people about contemporary youth information seeking behaviour. These results will inspire the content of the toolkit and eLearning course, and were also presented at the UNESCO Global Media and Information Literacy Week conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 25 September 2019. An official report will be ready by the end of October.
