29th General Assembly of ERYICA takes place in the European Youth Capital 2018

The 29th General Assembly of ERYICA took place from 25 to 27 April 2018 in Cascais, Portugal, with the support of Instituto Portugues do Desporte e Juventude (IPDJ) and Cascais European Youth Capital 2018. Over 40 people attended this event, representing 16 countries. The event aimed to share best practices at local, national and international level with members of the network, to comment and plan on ERYICA’s strategy and work for the upcoming year and to involve members in deciding possible initiatives and activities.

During the first day of the General Assembly, the programme included a presentation on the ERYICA Activity Report 2017, including inter alia results of the MOVE conference and the Toolkit Liaisons, and on the Strategic Plan for 2018-2023. An interview with partner organisations was then organised with the Portuguese National Youth Council (CNJ), Eurodesk and EYCA. Other stakeholders presented some of their initiatives and research, such as the UNESCO Initiatives on Media and Information Literacy and the initiative of the Council of Europe’s Children’s Rights Division aimed at providing child and youth-friendly information for young people in migration. Significant outcomes of the General Assembly were the approval of the European Youth Information Charter and the ERYICA Strategy 2018-2023, as well as the outcomes of the Working Group on the ERYICA Capacity-Building and Training System.

ERYICA would like to thank the Instituto Portugues do Desporte e Juventude (IPDJ) and the Cascais European Youth Capital 2018 for hosting such a successful General Assembly.
