1st Working Group Meeting of the Iberian Members of ERYICA in Madrid
In the last week of November, the first meeting of the newly formed Working Group of the members of ERYICA in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands took place in Madrid, Spain.
This meeting offered our members from Spain, Portugal and Andorra a space to establish aims and future collaboration plans, share ideas and good practices in youth information and learn about different youth policies.
The General Director of Youth of Comunidad de Madrid, José Luis Álvarez Ustarroz and the Deputy-Director, Pablo Benítez Llorente, together with the Vice President of ERYICA and the ERYICA Director, signed the European Youth Information Charter, thus welcoming the host organisation, Comunidad de Madrid, to our network.
Participants from Portugal (Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude), Andorra (Govern d'Andorra) and the regions of Catalonia (Agència Catalana de la Joventut), the Balearic Islands (Institut Balear de la Joventut), Andalusia (Instituto Andaluz de la Juventud), Valencia (IVAJ -Institut Valencià De La Joventut), Cantabria (Dirección General de Juventud y Cooperación al Desarrollo) and Madrid (Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Ayuntamiento De Móstoles-Juventud, Centro de Información Juvenil de Leganés, Centro Joven Imagina, Centro de Información Juvenil del Ayuntamiento de Alcalá de Henares and D.G. de Juventud Comunidad de Madrid), discussed the current situation of youth information in their respective territories.
At this meeting, the ERYICA Director talked about the upcoming activities of ERYICA in 2019 and presented the results of Åbo Akademi University’s survey on the future information and counselling needs of young people and the Manual for foresight in youth information developed in the framework of the Future Youth Information Toolbox project (Erasmus+).
We would like to welcome the Regional Youth Information and Documentation Centre (CRIDJ) of Comunidad de Madrid to our network again. We wish them the best of luck in this new stage of work and collaboration!
