Within the framework of the First International Forum about Cooperation in Rural Development in Seville, Spain, June 8-10, 2009, a round table "Rural Youth and Their Access to Information" was held.

The Eurodesk AISBL is recruiting a Director. The successful candidate will manage the Eurodesk AISBL in supporting the Eurodesk network in close co-operation with the Eurodesk President and the Executive Committee, adapting the work of the network to meet the rapidly changing information needs of young people and those who work with them.

Young people are a vulnerable group in a society where materialism and consumerism plays an important role: often, they are incited to buy expensive things they cannot necessarily afford, such as Internet facilities, mobile phones, laptops, MP3's, digital TVs inter alia.

Four ERYICA Member Organisations: MISSS (Slovenia), Canlaw (Wales), and In Petto (Flanders, Belgium) have recently come back from Finland, where they have participated in a Study Visit in Helsinki and Seinäjoki region.

The inintiative to organise the Study Visit was taken by the Department of Youth Affairs in Seinäjok city, Finland.

The National Coordination and Development Centre of Youth Information and Counselling Services (Oulu, Finland) is reaching out to more and more municipalities in Finland, providing them with tools&knowledge upon how the e-democracy tool www.aloitekanava.fi can be fully used and explored.
www.aloitekanava.fi is an online public debate programme, elaborated by the National Coordination and Development Centre of Youth Information and Counselling Services and Ponsi Interactive with the support from the Ministry of Education in Finland.

Promoting youth information centres take different forms in different environments. The Center for Exellence, Equality and Sustainable Development, Croatia, decided to promote youth info centres of Croatia via a concert "City of Youth-Voice of Solidarity" in Dvorana mladosti in Rijeka, Croatia, on May 22, 2009.
The concert gathered famous Croatian singers: Tereza Kesovija, Radojka Šverko, Vinko Coce with klapa "Kampanel" and Group ENI, well known both locally and internationally.

Within the framework of the BYIFNT project, the ERYICA Training Task Force held its consecutive meeting in 2009 on 8 – 10 May (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) to elaborate new modules of youth information training material replacing Minimum Basic Training Course (MBTC).

Within the framework of the bilateral exchange program between
Ministries of Education in Finland and Estonia, a group of youth
information workers from Estonia and Finland had a Study Visit in Helsinki and Turku, Finland (11
- 14 May, 2009), learning particularities of the youth information work in these cities.
The participants visited Youth Information Centre Kompassi,
Netari.fi (virtual youth house project), and Youth Information Centre
Nuorten in Turku.
