YIntro - Train the Trainer in Prague

The first Train the Trainer on ERYICA’s new training module YIntro – Stepping into Youth Information has taken place from 2. – 7.3. in Prague, Czech Republic. The event has been hosted by ERYICA’s member in Prague, NIDM and gathered 20 participants from 12 European countries (Serbia, Czech Republic, Spain, Turkey, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Montenegro, Portugal and France).

Report on Seminar "Youth Policy and Youth Information" - available now!

The report of the seminar “Youth Policy and Youth Information” (Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 1.12. - 6.12.2009) has been finalised. The seminar brought together 19 youth information workers from 17 European countries, as well as experts and European policy makers from present and prospective ERYICA partners. For six days the participants shared experiences and ideas about: o developing quality youth information services

Safer Internet Day 2010

Today, 9th of February 2010, the 7th edition of the Safer Internet Day will be celebrated in Europe, as well as in more than 30 countries around the world. Under the slogan "Think before you post!" a number of events are organised all around the globe to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology, especially among children and young people.

Launch of "YIntro" Course

ERYICA is glad to announce the launch of the "YIntro – Stepping into Youth Information" course. Together with ERYICA’s Training Task Force "YIntro" has been designed for training beginners in the field of Youth Information. The manual covers the basic areas of knowledge and skills needed for Youth Information Work and is meant to be an introduction to the field. "YIntro" is built on four working areas:  1. Background and Principles of Youth Information 2. Youth Information in Practice

Meet the Street – Final Report available now!

We are happy to announce that the Meet the Street project has now been finalised and the final report is ready. The Meet the Street project has been carried out with support of the Youth in Action programme of the European Union. Between October 2008 and September 2009 the project gathered 120 young people from all over Europe, who were given the opportunity to interview their peers on different subjects of importance for them such as education, employment, health, future perspectives, urban facilities, etc.

2010 International Year of Youth

Taking the importance of youth issues centre stage the United Nations declared the year 2010 as the International Year of Youth. Under the theme Dialogue and Mutual understanding the Year shall foster dialogue and understanding among generations and promote the ideals of peace, respect for human rights and freedoms, and solidarity.

Project Presentation "Informiši me - Informiši se" in Montenegro

The final presentation of the project "Informiši me – Informiši se" took place in Podgorica, on the 15th of December. The project was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Media, with the aim of fostering youth information programmes in Montenegro.

Newly Elected Governing Board

ERYICA would like to present you the new Governing Board members that have been elected during the General Assembly in Rotterdam on December 5th, 2009. With some minor change in staff, the ERYICA Governing Board is now ready to start into the new working period 2010-2013. Principles for Online Youth Information Approved

During the 20th General Assembly of ERYICA in Rotterdam, the Netherlands the Principles for Online Youth Information have been approved. Taking seriously the tremendous changes the Internet has brought about for information and communication processes in our societies, the Principles for Online Youth Information have been established to support young people to safely find their way around online.
