The Council of Europe has issued a new recommendation on Youth Information. Adopted by the Committee of ministers on June 16th 2010, the recommendation CM/Rec(2010)8 shall serve as an update of the Recommendation 90(7), a core reference for Youth Information in Europe.
The document takes into account new information needs of young people, who require more guidance than in the past for coping with the increasing amount of information and the urge to be able to assess it and evaluate its quality. The text recommends intra alia

The ERYICA Governing Board held their third meeting for 2009 on 17-19 September, 2009 in Luxembourg.
By the decision of the Board, the Youth Information Agency (OIA), Bosnia-Herzegovina was granted the status of an Affiliated Organisation.
Furthemore, the Board accepted the application for full membership from Zajednica ICM, Croatia. The membership confirmation is pending until final confirmation from the latter.

The Helsinki City Youth Department, with the help of the ERYICA Partner Kompassi (Helsinki) conducts a survey concerning youth culture - contribute to it!
The aim of the survey is to compare youth cultural phenomena in Helsinki, Finland and in different parts of Europe. Invest a few minutes of your time in answering questions concerning youth by the end of August 2009!

Last week, ERYICA Member in Switzerland, Infoklick.ch, has lead a "Cooltour Camp 2009" in Bern, Switzerland (August 3-7, 2009). During the Camp, young people had an opportunity to develop various skills via workshops provided: some of them have shot a film, others - choreographed a dance and even prepared a DJ gig.

Today is the International Youth Day - celebrate it along with the international community!
Each year, it is celebrated on August 12 to recognise efforts of the world's youth in enhancing global society. It also aims to promote ways to engage them in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to their communities.

The Second Infomobil Training took place in Finland (June 11-14, 2009).
The Infomobil Editors have discussed questions related to content improvement of the online platform, challenges in the quality of online information for the youth, learnt tools&tricks how to upload videos and even repair bugs.
